Beyond Predictable #5 – Shift your perspective to shape your future...
E-commerce has expanded to new frontiers in recent years. The speed with which this has happened has been even greater in recent times, where many companies needed to digitize their shopping experiences to thrive in an isolation scenario. Online shopping has become the new standard, and many companies had to find new ways to meet the growing digital demands of their customers.
That massive increase in demand puts extra pressure on the performance of retailers’ supply chains. Logistics, transportation, storage control, customer care — the operational aspects of delivering products to customers have never been simple, and keeping their processes efficient is a challenging task.
Here at VTEX, we build the future with the conversations we have — and there is no one better than Aline Salles Kolesnik, our Head of Value-Added Services, to talk about the ups and downs in supply chain management. In this week’s episode of Beyond Predictable, Manu Hipólito hosts an interview with Aline where they talk about the evolution of e-commerce in Brazil, building a career around the value you create, and transforming the future through new perspectives.
Aline Salles Kolesnik is the current Head of Value-Added Services at VTEX. Having worked in large retail companies such as Submarino, Walmart, Natura, and Ricardo Electro, Aline was responsible for implementing and managing Logistics, Distribution, Customer Care, and Procurement processes in e-commerce experiences. At VTEX, she has helped accelerate the transformation of commerce through Logistics, Customer Care, and Solutions.
Emanuelly Hipólito is currently a Talent Attraction Analyst at VTEX engaged in promoting a satisfying recruiting experience for candidates and enabling greater diversity in the selection process. She is part of the Workforce Expansion team at VTEX, contributing to attracting the best professionals that will accelerate the future we are building.

These are some of the insights from the interview:
The world is so much bigger than what you can see in your immediate surroundings. You don’t need to be what is expected of people from your town or your family, or any other circumstance around you. Through the willingness to get in touch with realities beyond your bubble, it’s possible to reshape the predictable outcomes in your life.
An open mind also opens doors. Sometimes you learn a way of doing things and it works really well for a while, but even the best methods can become obsolete. Allowing yourself to see the world in a different light keeps the window of opportunity open for fresh results.
The path to meaningful experiences hardly ever makes for a comfy ride. Every transformation comes with a price — whether it is emotional energy, dedicated labor, invested time, or spent money (to name only a few possible currencies) — no goal was ever achieved without something important at stake.
No experiences nor expectations are universal (and neither should they be). One person’s picture of fulfillment can easily be another’s idea of pain. There’s no reason to stick to a frustrating path if you can’t reach any goals that way, no matter how attractive that road may look to everyone else. It’s a matter of integrity to admit that choices and stances need to be re-evaluated.
Make yourself available to make things happen. If you’re not willing to actively listen to the demands around you, you won’t be able to be the one to supply those needs. Every task has its worth in the great scheme of things, and being the one to deliver consistently is the way to build a desired future.
