The Marketplace Network is a VTEX platform functionality that helps connect marketplaces and sellers operating in the VTEX ecosystem by enabling the creation of professional connections and mutual growth for every business involved. The feature works as an environment where parties interested in partnerships can communicate, allowing sign-up and contact between marketplaces and sellers and, therefore, it makes it possible for stores to grow revenue through its main feature: qualified connections.
Just to keep the information fresh, having a marketplace means building an ecommerce site where products and services are offered by multiple third-party sellers. Unlike traditional ecommerce, in which the site owner is the only seller, through a marketplace a business can sell its own products and services, along with products from third parties, or create a platform where buyers and sellers find one another.

Once you are one of our customers, you can register and create the seller profile for the Marketplace Network, which is automatically available.
The steps are easy: first, you fill in your store’s profile with all the details about the company, and then you opt to activate the seller profile and/or the marketplace profile. An active seller or marketplace profile enables your store to become visible within the network. You can filter companies by segment, country, region and keep track of who you contacted.
By connecting with a network of marketplaces and sellers using the functionality, you’re able to expand your sales channels and increase your product portfolio, unlock new revenue streams with less risk and quicker return on investment. It works in a very simple way:
As you search through the network, you will look for strategic partners in your industry and business model. To get in touch with the selected partners, connect, send and receive messages from parties interested in a certain business area, industry or location. Once connected, you will be able to negotiate and explore ways to grow your businesses together.
The potential business partner will receive an email with the information you entered. If both parties are interested, the person in charge of the seller or marketplace may contact you and negotiate a marketplace and seller agreement.
Here is a hot tip: when you are typing your profile description, put your marketing mind to it, since this is how you present your online business to other companies. You can include things like how the operation works, what are the main categories or what is the delivery area coverage.
